Calas de Mallorca
Calas de Mallorca is a resort situated on the south east coast of Mallorca, around 70 kilometres from the capital of Palma and its airport. Although Calas de Mallorca comes under the municipality of Manacor, the nearest town is Felanitx.
The purpose built resort with its sandy bays and ample amenities is an ideal destination for families.
About town
Calas de Mallorca offers ample amenities for holidaymakers, with a commercial centre, shops and several bars and restaurants.
In nearby Felanitx there is a Sunday morning market, which is commended as being one of the best on the island.
Beaches
There are three sandy bays in Calas de Mallorca; one of these, Cala de Domingos is said to be one of the best beaches in Mallorca. You can reach each of the bays via a mini train, or for the energetic you can take the cliff top walk along the headland.
Places to visit
Calas de Mallorca is well placed to visit some of best attractions Mallorca has to offer. The historic city of Manacor, home to Mallorca’s pearl industry is close by; as is the town of Porto Cristo, where you can visit the Caves of Drach.
All along the coastline are delightful seaside resorts, which are worth a day trip, including the beautiful Cala Figuera, Sa Coma, Calla Millor, Cala d’Or and Porto Colom.
The Vall d’Or golf Course is just 10 minutes away from the resort.
Eating out
Calas de Mallorca has an ample selection of bars and restaurants; for more choice you can head to the neighbouring town of Felantix.
Climate
Mallorca enjoys a typical Mediterranean weather, with mild winters and hot summers. During the months of July and August, the weather is hot and beautifully sunny, boasting around 11 hours of sun daily.
During the winter, the weather can get chilly, but is generally you can enjoy fine, mild weather on most days.
